Father's Day Surprise

Roy has been getting by with broken glasses for a while now. He has "fixed" them several times. And he complains and complains about needing new ones, but doesn't want to take the time or money it takes to do it. Well, the kids took matters into their own hands and gave him money to go towards getting new glasses.

This is the card they gave him. Inside they wrote: "Your kids and grandkids are growing up before your eyes. We just want you to be able to see them!" I am happy to report that we went in and got the exam and the new ones are now on the way. What a great idea for a father's day gift. Thanks loads to our totally creative, intelligent, and generous children!

We had Roy's favorite kabobs that day....too bad he had to cook them himself...I put them together, but usually don't touch the grill.

(Some people are just always looking for the camera!)

Another Birthday

When we moved here we found that we were in a new temple district. We would now go to Logan. I had never been to that temple, so I was kind of excited to see it. It was where my mom and dad were sealed in July of 1945, because the Idaho Falls temple was not completed. It's a beautiful place, rich with history, and I love going there. Roy surprised me on my birthday by taking me to Logan to lunch and to the temple. I was thrilled to go and get some more family names done.

When we saw this picture, we wondered who in the world these old people were!
Two days later, Karen and John came down for an overnight visit. We went on a fun four-wheeler ride around the mountains south of Lava Hot Springs. It was a cold and rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having a great time.

I really love how green everything is right now.
